Growing up in Western Sydney I noticed a consistent trend amongst my white fella family to have some form of ornate family tree trinket strategically placed within the home.
By the age of eight, my worldly observational skills made me question why Dad’s face was black but all of the faces I saw mounted in the trinkets were white.
History would attest that I would never see the black version. Reality would in fact imprint a markedly different impression on my mind and that is this one presented in this new piece titled- ‘The Family Tree’.
