Brand new series of landscapes addressing the poetry of Dorothy McKellar and Peter Dodds McCormick.
The two pieces that ‘Australians’ hold so close to their sentiment. ‘I love a sunburnt country’ and ‘Advance Australia Fair’. Also, creating a landscape using the ‘top end’ of the continent, purely to bring focus on the ‘proper-ness’ of Aboriginal culture. The go to place for tourism and the last bastion of tribalism. This series are parodies of ‘traditional’ Aboriginal art whilst addressing the ironies of colonisation.
