Refurbishing a karli boomerang from Yuendumu, I was inspired in the lead up to the 50th anniversary of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Ngunnawal (Canberra). Also recalling the words of the great Archie Roach’s song ‘Free to be a man’ (Sensual Being, 2002)… “brother I don’t understand, what happened to the Koori man, they took the weapons from my hand”…
